Early Life (1897–1921)

Subhas Chandra Bose was born on January 23, 1897 in Cuttack, Orissa to Prabhavati Devi and Janakinath Bose. He was the ninth child of his parents and grew up in a well-to-do family. He was educated at the University of Calcutta and soon became a youth leader in the Indian National Congress.

Bose was a brilliant student and was awarded a scholarship to study at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge University. He graduated with honors in 1921 and soon returned to India to take part in the Indian independence movement. He was an active member of the Indian National Congress and worked closely with Mahatma Gandhi in the struggle for independence.

Bose was an advocate of complete independence for India and was against the policy of cooperative non-violence advocated by Mahatma Gandhi and the Indian National Congress. He was a strong proponent of armed struggle and believed that it was necessary to use force in order to gain independence. He was also a great orator and was able to inspire many people with his powerful speeches.

Forward Bloc

The Forward Bloc was formed on May 3, 1939 by Subhas Chandra Bose. The party was created to oppose the policy of cooperative non-violence advocated by Mahatma Gandhi and the Indian National Congress, believing instead in the use of force to gain independence for India. The Forward Bloc was opposed to any form of foreign interference and advocated for a strong, independent India, and had strong ties to the Indian National Army, a military force created by Subhas Chandra Bose to fight the British forces.

Netaji in Germany and Japan

Subhas Chandra Bose spent time in both Germany and Japan during his period of exile from British India. In Germany, he formed an Indian Legion of the German army, comprising of over 3,000 Indian soldiers, to fight alongside the Germans in World War II. He also established the Free India Centre in Berlin and worked with the German government to broadcast pro-independence messages to India.

In Japan, Bose formed the Indian National Army (INA), which was made up of Indian soldiers who had been captured by the Japanese. The INA sought to free India from the British rule and Bose became the commander-in-chief of the army. He also formed the Azad Hind provisional government in Singapore, which declared India’s independence from Britain. He worked closely with the Japanese government and sought to establish diplomatic relations between India and Japan.

Bose’s time in Germany and Japan was an important part of his struggle for Indian independence, and his legacy is still remembered today as a great leader and freedom fighter. The Controversy
