The GRASSHOPPER Leaks

The US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has been accused of using the popular online platform WikiLeaks to secretly leak information. The accusation comes from a report published by the investigative website Grasshopper, which claims that the CIA used WikiLeaks as a “dead drop” to pass on classified information.

About CIA

The CIA is the U.S. federal agency that deals with national security intelligence. It is responsible for collecting information on international terrorists and covert operations. In addition, the CIA trains foreign intelligence services and maintains alliances with international agencies to enhance its capabilities. Although the CIA has a lot of power, many people have criticized its actions in the past. This is because the actions of the CIA are subject to interpretation by people other than those who ran the programs.

One of the biggest leaks occurred after the terrorist group ISIS took control of large amounts of money and military equipment from the Iraqi and Syrian governments. Senior officials from the CIA’s Near East Division were reassigned after many ISIS items were not properly cataloged and accounted for. This leak showed that even experienced officers can make fatal mistakes when handling important materials. This leak also showed that even when their actions are scrutinized, some people will still try to gain access to classified information- even for their own personal gain.

According to Grasshopper, an ex-officer of CIA set up a special account on WikiLeaks under the name “Zorro” in order to upload sensitive files. This account was allegedly used to leak several hundred documents, including some that contained classified information about the CIA’s spying activities.

The report also claims that the CIA attempted to cover up its involvement by planting false clues and evidence implicating other parties. However, investigators were able to identify several key indicators that point towards Zorro being operated by the CIA.

If true, this would be a major breach of security for both WikiLeaks and the US government. It is not yet clear how much damage has been done or what motivated the supposed leaks. However, this story is sure to cause controversy and raise questions about the trustworthiness of both organizations involved.
